Course Description
This LOTO Course teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to the energizing of equipment when attempting to perform servicing or maintenance. This course covers the general information portion of the The Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout), Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1910.147 for training of anyone with occupational exposure to energized equipment. This LOTO Course is designed to meet OSHA requirements when paired with site-specific LOTO training.

Per the LOTO Standard 1910.147: “Provide effective training as mandated for all employees covered by the standard.

Course Length: The length of the general the Lockout/Tagout Course (not including site-specific information) is approximately one (1) hour. With optional sections including a written test, and remediation, the course is approximately 1 hour, 30 minutes

Intended Audience
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) was designed specifically for the Commercial Market. It is targeted toward settings such as industry, Fortune 1500 companies, occupational health, property management, hospitality, security, and health and fitness staff. Other audiences that may be interested in the Lockout/Tagout Awareness Course due to additional state regulations include childcare workers, school personnel, maintenance workers, tattoo artists, and state corrections facilities.

Through the availability of interaction with the instructor via the internet, you will be able to discuss site-specific topics and/or other issues which relate to your particular involvement in Lockout/Tagout training. Your class's Courseroom has a forum where you may send questions for the course facilitator to answer.
